The richness in approaches and interpretations of this Triennial has allowed to unfold, through the eyes and sensitivities of all the participants, the relevance Armenia holds in its triple role as host, as a source of inspiration, and as fertile subject for contemporary art practices.

A Contemporary Art Experience

Inspired by the words of the un nished novel « Mount Analogue » by French author René Daumal, « A Contemporary Art Experience » traces an idea of art back to a constant research and exploration. Drawing on an account of the events surrounding the staging of « Standart 2017 – Triennial of Contemporary Art in Armenia », the novel by Christian Oxenius develops a  narrative in which the experience of art becomes the binding factor of a group of artists in a journey through Armenia.

Christian Oxenius is a German-Italian author, curator and researcher.

"A Contemporary Art Experience" is his first novel, written in an attempt to seek a new language to discuss critically about contemporary art and its position in today’s world.
